Black Sash Trust: The Black Sash is an independent, non-governmental human rights organisation that has worked tirelessly for justice and equality in South Africa since 1955. Their mission is to make human rights real for all by enabling people to recognise and exercise their human rights, particularly their social and economic rights. The Black Sash focuses on four key areas to address the injustice of poverty and inequality in South Africa – namely social security; social services and subsidies; consumer protection; and decent work and livelihoods.
